Panhard et Levassor automobile postcard. Printed caption on front reads, "Seine-Inférieure - Grand Prix de l'A.C.F." [l'Automobile Club de France] - 6 et 7 Juillet 1908" and "FARMAN sur voiture PANHARD & LEVASSOR." Under the latter text is written "frère de l'aviateur célèbre" - brother of the celebrated aviator - making this Maurice Farman, brother of Henri.
Inset photographic cartouches show driver Henri Cissac and mechanician and driver George Heath with his mechanician. A hand-written note above Cissac's photo reads "fut tué au circuit de Dieppe en 1908" - killed on the race course at Dieppe in 1908. During the 1908 French Grand Prix, Cissac's car lost a tire and rolled, killing both Cissac and Jules Schaube, his mechanician. This was the first fatal accident in Grand Prix history. A hand-written note above Heath's photo notes that he won the 1904 Vanderbilt Cup.
