|Scope & Content||
Framed French advertising poster for Griffon bicycles and motorcycles. The illustration shows a woman with short red hair and a yellow sleveless dress with a full skirt, holding a stylized single-cylinder Griffon motorized bicycle upright with her left hand and holding up a brass horn with her right. Ribbons loosely attach the horn to the bicycle. One ribon trails down to form the words, "La mode du jour" ("the fashion of the day"; possibly also a play on the musical sense of "mode"). To the lower right of the image is the signature "G. Cazenove"; below the image is the name and address of the printer, "Publicité L. Arnault, Neuilly-sur-Seine".
Approximately 38¼"x54" in frame. Color.
