B&W photograph of the L.O. Hanley General Store/South Thomaston post office, ca. 1917, before the store moved to the northeast side of the bridge over the Wessaweskeag River.
A buggy and two automobiles are parked outside the store
The men standing in front of store are, from left to right: William Griffin; Al Wiggin; Alvin Wiggin, Jr.; Carl Snow; Bert Snow; Archie Healy Rackliff; and Lamont O. Hanley. In the front seat of the right-hand automobile is Edna (Rowell) Rackliff, holding her son Maurice (born 1917). In the back seat are Abbie Foster and Archie Rackliff's mother Emily (Foster) Rackliff. The child between them is Marion Rackliff, who was born in 1914, and was the daughter of Archie & Edna.
The name of the cat on the store's porch is unknown.
