Correspondence to Melbourne Brindle from eminent American automobile designer William L. "Bill" Mitchell (1912-1988). Letters are dated May 1 and May 5, 1978, and primarily discuss industrial design (Goodyear, 3M, GM and Yamaha). The 05/01/1978 letter has enclosures of (2) 8"x10" color photographs of the Phantom prototype, Mitchell's last design for GM, as well as a photocopied title page to a Karl Ludvigsen article on "Billy Mitchell's Sports Coupe: The Phantom" (magazine name unknown). The Phantom was never put into production. The 05/05/1978 letter has a color transparency of a Brindle illustration of the Mitchell-designed Corvette Shark.
