|Scope & Content||
Real photo postcard: Stanley Boynton's "Rockland, Me. To Los Angeles" Cessna in Vinalhaven, Maine, likely 1930. Boynton, the "Junior Lindbergh of New England", flew his Cessna from Rockland, Maine to Los Angeles and back in 1930, setting a junior transcontinental flying record.
Photograph shows airplane and two automobiles on snowy ground or ice. Four adults in heavy winter clothes are approaching the plane. Three are carrying luggage or coats, and the fourth, leaning into the cabin, may be pilot Boynton. No message on reverse of card except note made by collector in August 2017.
